We are Marching in the Memorial Day Parade!
On Thursday, May 30, New Britain Little League will once again be participating in the Memorial Day Parade here in New Britain! We invite the entire league to come join us for this awesome day! Last year, we built a float and had our younger players ride in it throughout the parade. It turned out to be a huge success and the parade was attended by the most players ever in the past decade! Due to the popularity of last year's float, we are having TWO floats this year! The parade will begin at 6 PM and goes through the heart of New Britain. More details will be coming soon once they are available from the city of New Britain.
Come Participate in our Home Run Derby on Saturday, June 8!
On Saturday, June 8, we are bringing back our Home Run Derby! This year, it is open to those ages 7 and above. To balance the competition and to make it fair for all involved, we will have specific divisions with specific times throughout the day. The divisions will be split according to the children's ages. There will be two rounds in each division. In the first round, each contestant will get ten swings. The three contestants with the most home runs will then advance to the final round, where each contestant will get seven outs. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three contestants based on the amount of people who register. More information will be coming soon but please save the date now!

Opening Day 2013 a Huge Success!
On April 13, 2013, we kicked off our 56th season at Stanley Quarter Park. While it was a cloudy and chilly day, that didn't stop over 1,000 people from coming out and enjoying the ceremonies and the activities and food afterwards. The parade of teams consisted of 45 teams and over 550 players, with each team coming in and shaking the hands of dignitaries as well as the entire New Britain High School Baseball program. During ceremonies, the New Britain Little League Board of Directors honored Matthew Cannata, who became the longest serving President in league history this year. Eddie Camacho, Director of Softball, was also honored by throwing out the first pitch for his dedication and commitment to the league over the past 10+ years. On the baseball side, Joseph Cannata was honored by throwing out the first pitch for his 22 years of service to the league. In addition to all of that, the 2012 Seniors Softball All - Star team were honored for winning the District 5 Championship.
Joining us in attendance was the Mayor of New Britain - Timothy O'Brien, Superintendent of Schools - Kelt Cooper, Little League District 5 Administrator - Maryellen Holden, Roberto Mercado - NBHS Varsity Coach, the New Britain High School Golden Hurricanes Marching Band, the New Britain High School JROTC, and Rocky the Rock Cat!
It was a great day and fun was had by all. We look forward to a season that no one will ever forget and one that is filled with memories and stories that will be told for years to come!
